I've never really claimed to be an artist.  In fact, I hate that word.  It gets thrown around like the title is meaningless.  I believe that being an artist requires two different things:  Natural talent/Passion, and a learned/trained ability.  Now great artists have gotten by without the training but this is EXTREMELY rare.  Most greats have studied under someone to learn their ways and became great because of it.  That being said, most of what I see on here is not art.  Sorry, but I don't care how much you feel it means something, a scribble is a scribble, bad poetry is bad poetry and pictures of your fat, naked, hairy, junk is not art!  I'm tired of seeing it.  What makes you think you can buy a $400 point and shoot and call yourself a photographer!?  Even worse than not knowing how to work a real camera, you think its art to just drop your trousers and take pictures of what you see by looking down.  Michelangelo and Caravaggio are rolling in their graves at such a disgrace.  

What also sucks about DeviantArt is that people who work hard at their craft and have good writing, beautiful paintings, unbelievable photographs and something real to share do not get the recognition they deserve unless there are tits.  Its been my experience that the majority of DA's population is either A:  Emo kids/hipsters who think they're more artsy than they actually are...or B:  Perverts looking for porn.  I've had to tell off a few people on the prowl for naked ladies on my page and I've had to take down several photographs because of creepers just wanting to see more tits and ass.  Many of the ladies I photograph are my friends so if you creep the pictures I take of them, I'll take it personally.  It's people like you that destroy the art community and its people like you that make it so hard to actually find and appreciate art on DA.  Those weird people who take cell phone pictures of their nappy crotch, you say its art.  IT'S NOT ART!!!  It's not even decent porn.  If you want porn, go to a porn site.  Leave this community...or do better and become "an hero."  Don't know what an hero is?  Look it up:  [link]
